Stroke Rehabilitation

The Community Stroke Team work alongside our team offering 10 week rehabilitation programs for patients who have suffered a recent stroke.  The programme was put together by Wadge Grzelak of Reach For Health in conjunction with the Community Stroke Team and was adopted as a regular offering following successful trials.  The results have proved to be enormously beneficial to the patients.

Reach for Health launched its continuing heart care program in January 2017 for patients that have been through a cardiac event like a heart attack or surgery. This program allows them to carry on their rehabilitation after going through the phase III with the NHS, and continue to improve their health and learn more about remaining that way.

The NHS ReStart team from Northampton General Hospital run a number of Group sessions at Reach for Health for people with the condition called COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder).  We Also have our own COPD group that meets each week for regular exercise sessions

Reach for Health helps hundreds of people each year to understand the effects of diabetes and how to improve their lifestyle to reduce the risks that it poses to health. This includes advice on losing weight, making better nutritional choices and doing the correct level of exercise in order to improve their cardiovascular health.

Many auto-immune diseases like Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis can vary in severity from being in partial remission to being very active.  The unpredictability of auto-immune diseases, which can flare up without warning, makes it very hard to plan life. Reach for Health works hard to help people cope with these conditions by developing flexible schedules of exercise that adapt with those changes, allowing people to continue getting exercise that helps maintain their overall health.

Reach for Health receives no income from the NHS or any other government body.

If you would like to make a donation please use the ‘DONATE’ button above, or contact us if you would like further information, thank you.

Reach for Health staff have the experience and specialist skills to help and support the needs of these complex conditions. We help people to regain confidence and live more normal lives.
